To the Ocean, Woosh!

We made our way out to the beach this weekend. Adam and Evan rode the Reach the Beach bike ride, and we met them at Pacific City. We rented a beach house in a cozy little village. Not a lot of time was spent in the beach house, but if we were inside we played board games, ate, slept, watched a movie, and made some ventures to the recreation house to play pool. The first game of pool I played was really bad. After that Evan and Adam joined James and I and we played a game of team eight ball. It's such a satisfying sound to hear a ball glunk down into a pocket. One game, Evan didn't get any balls in, but I couldn't have done well without him. Mom says it's not nice to tell how I beat my brothers, so I'll just say one last thing on pool: I started a game of eight ball with James, but I finished it with Evan. (who took James' place about halfway) I won that one. After which Adam commented: "She's good." Nah, I'm not that good. On our jaunts to the beach we checked out the tide pools and found many interesting little creatures. James was the only one brave ( *cough* stupid *cough* ) enough to go out into the water. The rest of us were quite satisfied to stay on the sand. Well... that is if you consider sandstone sand... the boys couldn't keep off the rocks and anywhere and everywhere they would climb up the rocks. Even Anna gave climbing a whirl. For some reason, I enjoy controlled exhilaration. After our adventures on the rocks and tide pools we had lunch at The Pelican Pub and Brewery. (If you like good beer, that's the place to get it. The decorate with all their trophies.) My burger was amazing. But what happens when everyone is done but not yet leaving? Concoctions are made. That's what John started doing. Mom had me go sit at their table, and I had a suprisingly warm welcom to their table. What Adam said next explained his superficial "come and sit". "Everyone at the table has to have a drink. I looked at the yellowish and thousand island dressing colored drink... and I sat. After John mixed it, he took a sip. His face contorted, but I wasn't swayed. I had to keep up my rep for being disgusting. Anna passed on this educational experience. Then the glass came to me. I picked it up and down went a teensy bit of it. Yuck, but I did it anyway. I'm not dead yet!! The glass went to Adam next. He just about passed it on to Evan, but he wouldn't be out done by a girl, so he too had a sip. I wasn't payed anything, but maybe I will someones face cringed as much as Evan's when I just tell them about it. Here comes the tide.
