Amazing Grace
Yesterday, Mom took Evan, James, Laura, and I down to the capitol for the rally against SB2. At first I didn't know what I was doing, but after finding some people that we knew it made it easier to look like we were doing something profitable. Mom wanted me to write a letter to a Representative, but I couldn't squeeze anything out of my little brain sells at the moment. I didn't understand all the reasons for opposing the bill and I didn't want to write something that was just "because". I don't think that makes sense, but nothing made sense to me at the moment either. Some of us scaled the stairs up to the statue on a tour. I must say the view was amazing from up top. I mostly looked over the wall than at the golden man. Interesting isn't it? Going up the stairs really threw my sense of directions. I thought south was north and vise-versa. Primly cut lawns, leafy trees, and brick buildings were a perfect picture. Unfourtunately I didn't have my camera at the time. Little did I know that it was in my mom's pocket, and she continually forgot to tell me she had it. I don't know how the voting on the bill went today and I don't know if any of the sign holding, speach making, or letter writing at the rally helped to convince a Representative go to oppose the bill, but it was a good experience.
