These Summer Days
Saturday was fun. We played frisbee with a nicely rounded group, and then a game of soccer. The sun shone to it's brightest, and the grass was colored it's greenest. Firm ground under your feat with a frisbee in your hand, the breeze stirs all around, and the voices echo across the field is what makes it feel so like summer. On the way home from getting sun burned, we stopped by the name brand of all mini marts: 7-11. From what I saw, the Slurpee machine had been used quite a lot that day. Even though the coke flavor wasn't ready, I still got a Slurpee. Who in their right mind could only have one flavor? Cherry looked good, and here it goes into the cup! Deck it with some of that stuff with the orange top, but place on the dome and fill that with some passion fruit. The art of filling Slurpees comes from the heart. Almost every time I drink one, along with the rush of the brain freeze comes the memories of running into the store and watching dad fill it up just right. In the car the kids would pass around the cup, but when it came to you it seems a terrible thing to give it up after you've had just one drink. Ah... good times.
